Breast Augmentation cost
How much does breast augmentation cost?
Typically $6,000 to $12,000 in the US.
Most patients in the US pay somewhere between $6,000 and $12,000 all in. The surgeon's fee is usually about half; the implants, the anesthesia, the facility and your follow-up visits make up the rest. Where you are and who you choose move the number more than anything else, which is why the only real number is the one a surgeon gives you after seeing you.
What changes the price
The surgeon
Experience and demand set the fee. A surgeon who does breast augmentation every week charges more than one who does it occasionally, and is usually worth it.
The implant
Silicone costs more than saline; shaped (anatomical) and highly cohesive gels cost more again. Your surgeon will tell you which makes sense for your body.
Where you are
Major cities cost more than smaller ones. The same surgery can differ by thousands between Miami and a mid-size city, and by far more between countries.
What's bundled
Some quotes are surgeon-only; others include anesthesia, the facility, garments and a year of follow-ups. Always ask what is in the number.
What a quote should include
- Surgeon's fee
- Implants
- Anesthesia
- Operating facility
- Post-op garments
- Follow-up visits
- Revision policy (ask: what happens if something needs correcting?)

Why can't you just tell me my price?+
Because it depends on your body, the implant you choose and the surgeon you choose. Any site that gives you a single number without seeing you is guessing. We can get you an estimate from a surgeon who will actually see you.
Is the consultation free?+
Often, and when there is a fee it is usually credited toward surgery. Ask when you book.
Does insurance cover breast augmentation?+
Cosmetic breast augmentation is not covered. Reconstruction after mastectomy is a different procedure and usually is.
Can I finance it?+
Most clinics offer financing through a third party (CareCredit and similar), usually from a few hundred dollars a month. Ask the clinic what they work with.
Is it cheaper abroad?+
Usually, sometimes by half. Add flights, a hotel for the recovery days, and the cost of any follow-up care at home. Some patients do very well with it; make sure you can see the surgeon's own results and reach them afterwards.
What happens after I ask for an estimate?+
One clinic near you messages you first, by email or text, with an estimate and an offer of a consultation. No calls unless you ask for one. Only that clinic gets your details.
